Child Dedication

Congratulations on your decision to dedicate your child!

Our next Impact Child Dedication will take place on March 10th, 2024 at our 8:30am, 10am, 11:30am and 1pm services. We would love to celebrate your beautiful new addition to our Impact Church family.

To help you make an informed choice, we’d like to share with you the purpose behind child dedications. Feel free to reach out to admin@impactpeople.org with any questions you may have about the following information provided.

At Impact Church, our desire is to partner with you in nurturing your child(ren) to know Jesus and develop a deep relationship with Him.

We choose to dedicate our children to the Lord, following the example set by Jesus’ life. This deeply biblical step is rooted in our faith in the birth, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus.

And you must love the Lord  your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. (Deuteronomy 6:5-9 NLT)

As expressed in Deuteronomy, we are called to love the Lord with all our heart, soul, and strength, passing these commands to our children consistently.

In Luke chapter 2, we find the account of Jesus’ dedication day, offering insights into our practice today.

As we dedicate our children, we engage in several meaningful actions:

  1. Presenting them back to God: Just as Jesus was presented to the Lord in Luke 2:21-23, we recognize that our children are gifts from God, and we are stewards entrusted with their care.

Eight days later, when the baby was circumcised, he was named Jesus, the name given him by the angel even before he was conceived. Then it was time for their purification offering, as required by the law of Moses after the birth of a child; so his parents took him to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord. (Luke 2:21-23 NLT).

  2. Praising God for them: Following Simeon’s example in Luke 2:28-29, we express gratitude to God for the precious gift of our children.

Simeon was there. He took the child in his arms and praised God, saying, “Sovereign Lord, now let your servant die in peace, as you have promised. (Luke 2:28, 29 NLT).

  3. Prophesying a Biblical Future: Drawing inspiration from Luke 2:30-32, we speak purpose and destiny into our children’s lives, acknowledging their role in God’s plan.

I have seen your salvation, which you have prepared for all people. He is a light to reveal God to the nations, and he is the glory of your people Israel!” (Luke 2:30-32 NLT).

  4. Passing on a Generational Blessing: Mirroring the blessing Simeon bestowed upon Jesus’ parents in Luke 2:33-34, we declare God’s favor over our children’s lives – to grow up healthy and strong, as Jesus did, filled with wisdom and God’s favor (Luke 2:40).
Jesus’ parents were amazed at what was being said about him. Then Simeon blessed them. (Luke 2:33, 34 NLT).
There the child grew up healthy and strong. He was filled with wisdom, and God’s favor was on him. (Luke 2:40 NLT).

As you choose to make this decision to dedicate your child(ren) back to the Lord, we encourage you to commit to growing your child in the House of God by attending services and getting involved as the Lord leads. Your child will follow your example as they witness your relationship with Jesus and your commitment to the broader, Big “C” Church community.

Below are some ways you can get involved:

iServicesOur desire is for you to become a follower of Jesus Christ and to discover your life given purpose. Our Sunday service times are 8:30am, 10am, 11:30am (streamed online) and 1pm.

iKidzA place where your children aged 6months – 6th grade will have fun and learn about God. iKidz runs simultaneously with the services happening in the auditorium.

Impact YOUTH A ministry for our 7th-12th graders, committed to raising up the next generation to live out revival, love in unity, and walk in purpose. We offer Youth Crews (weekly, regional-based, co-ed, small groups) that give our students a chance to dig deeper in their study of Scripture and to build community with other students. Additionally, one Friday a month, Impact Youth gathers for a high energy, fun-filled night to worship Jesus. At Youth Encounter Night, we have games, giveaways, food, worship and a message designed especially for the youth.

iGroups – We are crazy about relationships! Our desire is that you connect, make friends, become part of this church family while learning and growing spiritually in the process. In an iGroup, you will be able to build relationships and get connected with people in a similar stage of life or with similar interests. Together, we will build community, foster spiritual growth, and have fun.

iTeams – iTeams are a great opportunity for you to create a life of impact through serving. Our vision of excellence takes a dedicated team committed to careful execution. Impact Church is not made possible by a small group of gifted people, but by the sacrifices of the whole Impact Church family. We have a wide variety of areas where you can serve and find fulfillment. Through our quick but thorough training program, you will feel knowledgeable and comfortable in your role in your iTeam.

With your review and understanding of this information and your desire to proceed with dedicating your child, we welcome you to fill out our registration form. If you are dedicating more than one child, please submit a separate form for each child.
